Exciting Updates Ahead for Medical Assistance Coverage
At Great American Equine, we are continuously working to refine and improve our coverage offerings to better serve you and your clients. As part of this commitment, we are in the process of rewriting and refiling our $7,500 Medical Assistance coverage to stay ahead of rising veterinary costs.
As previously communicated by your underwriters, effective June 1, 2025, the $7,500 Medical Assistance coverage will no longer be available for Hunter/Jumpers and Dressage horses on new business. This temporary adjustment allows us to refine the form and ensure it aligns with our long-term objectives.
For existing policies, clients with the $7,500 Medical Assistance coverage will be grandfathered in, meaning they can continue to renew and endorse their coverage as needed. In the meantime, we strongly encourage offering the $10,000 Medical coverage as a valuable alternative moving forward.
We recognize that this adjustment may impact some clients, and we want to assure you that we are actively working on refining and improving the new form. We’ll keep you updated on developments and look forward to bringing you an even stronger offering soon.
Your continued collaboration and support mean the world to us, and we’re here to assist you with any questions or concerns. Please reach out if you need further clarification—we’re happy to help!
Here Comes Summer
As the school year winds down and the warm days of summer approach, are your insureds gearing up for additional activities? Equine day camps are a common addition to riding instruction programs, especially during the summer months. These camps may include activities such as learning how to groom and tack a horse, basic horse care, handling and safety and receiving riding lessons. Camps may also feature non-equine-related activities such as arts and crafts.
The Great American AgriBusiness® Division is here to help you insure these camps. A Camp Supplemental Application is required for coverage to be considered.
Summer horse shows are another popular equestrian event typically held during the warmer months. Are your insureds hosting shows? Does their insurance policy reflect this exposure? We can help provide coverage for this operation. A short-term show policy is available, or coverage may be included in the annual Farm Package. Please complete a Horse Show Application, available on the AgriBusiness® Agent Portal, for consideration.
Supplemental applications can be found on the AgriBusiness® Agent Portal under Resources > Filter to Type > Applications and Forms.
Summer is a busy season with increased activity for your insureds. The warm weather allows for more outdoor events. Equine summer camps and horse shows are great ways to keep kids active, engaged and entertained throughout the season. Talk to your underwriter today about your clients’ needs.
